What is the Adopt a Family Christmas Program?
The Adopt a Family Christmas Program connects a generous individual, business or group with deserving children in a family in need.
How Does the Christmas Program Work?
Our Christmas Program helps families with income below the US Poverty Guidelines. We require proof of income and verification of each child in family. All applications are verified.
- Families sign up for assistance by completing the application and submitting with documents requested, including the Children’s Wish List and Family Letter telling their story of need.
- We review the family application and documents to confirm the need for assistance.
- We post the Family Letter and Children’s Wish List to a private site. Families are assigned a number, last names and addresses are confidential.
- Adopters complete and submit the Donor Info Form. Adopter names and addresses are confidential. We will acknowledge receipt and keep you informed.
- Adopters select a family and notify us of their choice to adopt.
- We confirm availability and notify both the Adopter and the Adopted of selection.
- Adopters go shopping. The Adopter chooses all gifts. There is no limit on the amount of gifts or money spent. Adopters are asked to provide at least one item from each child’s wants and needs list. Families should refrain from asking for expensive items.
- Adopters complete shopping and contact us to set up a delivery appointment at our Distribution Center. Gifts should be unwrapped, labeled with family number and child name. Gifts may be in bags or boxes. Adopters may provide gift wrap supplies for parents.
- We contact the family to schedule an appointment for gift pickup. Applicant I.D. and Family thank you notes are required for pickup.
- Family thank-you notes are mailed to Adopters from our office after Christmas.
- Tax Donation letters are sent to Adopters by email in January.

How can my Family Sign Up to be Adopted?

- There is no fee for families to apply.
- Families sign up for assistance by completing the application and submitting with required documents, including the Children’s Wish List and Family Letter telling their story of need. Families are assigned a number, last names, and addresses are confidential.
- Adopters review the Family Letter and Children’s Wish Lists to select the family they will adopt.
- We will notify you by email if your family is adopted.
- We will email the family when to schedule an appointment for gift pickup at our Distribution Center. Applicant I.D. and Family thank you notes are required for pickup.
- Check your application and documents carefully. Incomplete applications are denied.
- We do NOT notify families that are not adopted. You did not get adopted if you did not receive a message from us. Do not contact us to inquire.
- We always have more families applying, than Adopters available to give. Applying does not guarantee your family will be selected.
